To us, after images include the entire range of sensations and perceptions caused by intense impressions. The after image is the image of the building that you take home with you; your personal memory of the environment.
The face of a building is always on the outside. Why can the face not be replaced altogether by a moving picture gallery, a changing kaleidoscope of images? We invite you to replace the traditional one-dimensional architectural image by something far more advanced and intangible. This can be a range of inexhaustible, ever-renewing composites of perceptions, memories and thoughts.
Upload your movies to YouTube and send us the link (info@unstudio.com). The winning movie maker will be invited for a traineeship at UNStudio. The deadline for sending in movies/links: 26 October.
let's have a competition where hundreds of people spend hours and hours and hours feeding us new material, and we'll give one lucky sod (maybe, keyword being invited) an unpaid position for their hard work!
yeah... and yer tea house on bunker is kinda fugly
meta; go for it. But if the first prize is an internship I doubt that they are willing to make another deal..... They do not need collaboration, they have ennough coverage / publications, etc.
probably so many interns applying so the best way is to get the best is to write your own brief, make it an open compeition, its an easy reply to anyone that applies for an internship... theyre probably just sick of people applying with no incredable multi 3d skills..... interesting idea for an exhibtion.. maybe not a compeition
i seriously doubt the UN studio is looking for more ideas, i think they are doing ok in that department, they are probably just board of the same ol'folio again and again from interns.
i read an interesting stat the other week that has inspired me to say this: the office of steven holl revieces no less than 1000 portfolios in a week. not a month, a week. so i'm thinking 56000 folios a year is a little much to choke through every time you need to find an intern.
UN studio is probably trying to weed out the shitty interns. by asking for something like this they are asking interns to not only be creative in design but also in their process and method for achieving that design.
will any of you be applying?

Sounds to me like UN needs some new stuff for themselves... Let others do the hard work and use all entries for their own research...
exactly what i was thinking.

meta, the comp is just another way of getting applicants for their intern positions - thats it.

Sounds like a cheap deal from UN to me.
