So I was working on my portfolio (which I submitted for Fall 07 candicacy) yesterday and saw some pretty bad grammar mistakes in one or two of my paragraphs. It makes me contemplate how in the world I got accepted last year into two decent schools (3yr M.Arch). This is my show&tell of the day.
I'm totally with vado on this one and could go on and on about how you have to understand the rules before you can break them to a desired effect, not only in grammar but (of course!) in architecture, but I'm too busy drawing wall sections right now.
pun- noun- the humorous use of a word or phrase so as to emphasize or suggest its different meanings or applications, or the use of words that are alike or nearly alike in sound but different in meaning; a play on words.
liberty...what are you saying...that pomo was(is) an architectural pun?
"grammer" was intentionally misspelled, we get it, and i thought it was funny...but it's not a pun (as vado stated), but you can still state "pun intended" (since it was your intention...which people say that counts)
one of my presentation boards from school had an "it's" instead of "its"...i still can't forgive myself!
Not just pomo, simples. I'm saying if you want a column to look sinewy, you have to understand when one looks fat. If you want a sense of precariousness, you need to know how to do stability. If you want stately, you should understand ad hoc. Etc.
Humour or humor is the ability or quality of people, objects, or situations to evoke feelings of amusement in other people. The term encompasses a form of entertainment or human communication which evokes such feelings, or which makes people laugh or feel happy.
got it LB...i was just trying to be funny: "pomo = architectural pun" seemed like a funny - but appropriate - analogy to me...i have to work in my humor...

Ahem.... Were you using it to post just now?
just brilliant...
grammer cannot be a pun on grammar. because grammer ain't a word.
it doesn't matter that it isn't a word because you still realized that-that word was suppose to be grammar.
that is incorrect, dave.
I thought "grammer" was a misspelling.
