I agree, take it anyway. Just because those schools don't require them, doesn't mean you should avoid taking the test. It'll show you're not afraid of a test score and you're willing to take the application process seriously. And with the GRE being such a small portion of application, it won't matter so much if you have an average or below average score, unless your GPA is pretty low. Just buy a study guide, review for a week and spend the rest of the time on your portfolio and essays.
Schools that don't require GRE
OK -
Can anyone quickly list schools (that you know of) that DO NOT require a GRE score for grad school admission??
cranbrook
Risd
Columbia MSAAD, MSAUD
MIT SMArchS
UNM
Pratt
CUNY
just take the damn thing...

Oh, I am taking it. I was just curious. :)
IIRC, Sci-Arc didn't want my scores either (that was for one of their post-prof. programs though)
CCA doesn't require it either.......basically any art school is not going to require it
UNM, UNC Charlotte, Cal Poly Pomona
Wow, what great criteria for picking a school! I hope you were just curious! And I hope you aren't a cat.
Garpike, I think you're funny. Really funny.
