V-ray for sketchup?

med.

I see that V-ray has developed a plug-in for Sketch-up. It looks a little pricey at around $750, but I'd love to get my hands on it. Does any one have it and if so, is it worth getting?

I guess my main question/concern is whether or not it would still have the material editor that would be on 3ds max or VIZ.

It would be perfect for our firm, but our IT guys are .... well IT guys. You know their type.

I tried the early beta trial and i was impressed. You could get fairly good renderings without too much effort. If they could bundle the 2 together for under 1k I would think about buying

I just tried it. It's good. Not quite the same results you would expect from using it with 3ds max, but very very nice and fast.

My office just agreed to acquire a couple licenses.

I've got it and I'm pretty impressed so far. Saves a lot of headaches I used to have trying to go from Sketchup into Max just to get a decent rendering. Sketchup has a few renderers out there now but Vray is by far the fastest.

Only annoying thing is that the materials are a different file format than vray for max. I think they are working on a converter but for now I don't think you can use max materials with vray for sketchup.
