I've been searching and have found a few, just seeing if anyone knew of often-used (somewhat popular) online forums similar to archinect for other trades.
I came across contractortalk.com but was looking for one specifically related to real estate development. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I'm cool with a subset. That wouldn't be a bad idea. I have actually chatted a bit with knowledgeable people in other geographical areas about development angles. But...they were in v distant areas so we could freely talk w/o being worried about any competitive interference.
I'm researching land options contracts and even my grad school is a terrible resource for it so I'm looking on internet.
Other online forums for Contractors, Developers, etc like Archinect

you're not considering going to the dark side, are you impalajunkie?? Architecture in DC needs you.
haha i'm already on the dark side. finishing my IDP at an engineering firm and I have 2 small development projects under construction.
Its not a bad thing though, there are quite a few architect/developers out there doing a lot of good work, and making a crapload of money doing it.
there's nothing like archinect com'n
Yeah, your dreaming if you think other professions have an archinect.

impala you ever find a good developer site?
I somehow think a good one wouldnt exist as noone would want to share trade secrets.
Why don't we just create one as a subset of Archinect?
There is already a lot of great info here. It just needs to be re-indexed.
Personally, I loved the link to the Jonathan Segal lecture about two years ago.
This coupled with active use of linkedIn and other sources is a great springboard.
My sense is that developers do their networking in "real time". Online forums are kind of the "kids stuff" of "closing deals".

...and of course; Jagah-bombs
