The most notable building on the inner harbor is the National Aquarium, which is in a style reminicent of IM Pei. the black interior with criss-crossing ramps and escalators has somewhat of a Piranesian quality. the inner harbor also has Pei's Baltimore World Trade Center, the world's tallest pentagonal building. i am not too crazy about the visitors' center as i see it as a bit of a gimmicky "one-liner". i also find its siting and orientation to be a bit awkward.

Also check out the Maryland Institute College of Art Brown Center, the Johns Hopkins University Mattin Center, and the JHU Downtown Center (not at the same location).

If you can get an appointment, get inside the Peabody Library. Amazing interior space.

spend time walking around the inner harbor, especially on a nice day.

Go to Federal Hill and walk around the Light St./Cross St. Market area and grab lunch and beers, its a very well restored and well kept area.

If you're there for a night that same area in Federal Hill is bonkers, or go to Canton and hit the square. Don't go north of Patterson Park :)
