i remember i saw a classic b/w silent film at college, it talked about Paris or london being deserted and all dark (something to do with big sleep)... the scene was pretty much like 28days after... could anyone help?
i need to dig this one out for a project research.
Smokety Mc Smoke Smoke> ha, that's the one, thanks.
evilplatypus> yes, its one of the scene at Paris Qui Dort.
anyway, another movie question, more fake-
a black & white avant-garde movie done during the 40-60's, the name is "...... afternoon", one of the director is a japanese, the movie was only 10-15 minutes, but the montage there was really pioneer at that time.
forgot the name of a silent film

Sounds like Paris Qui Dort (aka The Crazy Ray) by Rene Clair (1927)
was their a big clock in it and it was like the city would transform itself when everyone was sleeping?

Is it "Meshes of the Afternoon" (1943) by Maya Deren and Alexander Hammid? No Japanese director, but pioneering montage technique.
