Architectural History Course

zytls

Hi Everyone,

I'm applying to M.Arch 1 programs for Fall 2013, and I am faced with the problem that I can't find any architectural history courses at my undergraduate institution.

Since most schools ask for at least one architectural history course as a prerequisite, does anyone have any ideas where I can take this course over the summer?

Thanks a lot!

If everything else in your application merits your admission, you will likely be admitted with a requirement to take that pre-req history within the first semester.

it's hard to recommend a course of action since you didn't specify your location, but I'd say if there are art history courses you can take - do that. In fact, about half of the art history courses I took were fairly heavily concerned with architectural material because the two fields were typically aligned very closely in the past of most cultures.

Thanks a lot!

I'm pretty sure that the architecture history course is the only one that I'm missing. I recently found that a summer course at Boston University may work for me. I'll definitely search for more available options :)
