Need Help From Architects: Is there a program that stores large drawings?

crossitoff

We are an Organizing company that is helping architects with a project for charity.  Does anyone know of a database program already created that scans very large drawings and stores them so we can search all the info in one spot by: architect, building, data name, picture, and other information attacted to the document?

Thanks

You might check with a plotter/plotting supply vendor (i.e. here in Dallas - http://www.archivesupplies.com).

I think many of the pricier plotters have built-in scanning capabilities, which likely come with archiving software. One of the firms that interned with had a digital archiving program that was networked to the companies hard drive, giving them the ability to scan and search for electronically archived drawings. As an intern, I did a lot of this work.

Hope this helps...not sure if this is the same thing you are asking for.
