Im designing a community center, which will have a theater and cafe. Those spaces would be consuming most of the electrical and plumbing capacity. The total SF of the building is approx 22,000. Any suggestions on a size for a mechanical room?
If this is for a school project, ask a professor or go to your library and find a book like The Architect's Studio Companion or use your one of your textbooks from your environmental controls courses.
If you are a professional, maybe you should be asking your contractor's sub.

Big enough to accommodate the equipment you will have in there.

Ouch! How about asking your MEP engineers?
It depends on what you will have in it. If it helps, try shooting for 1000sq.ft(50 ft. x 20 ft.)
can't give you a size.. depends on what equipment you need and they come in different size depending on your requirements.
Thanks everyone for your input!!
This is a school project, which we are still developing, but the estimates are helpful for square footage purposes
