So, I just got admitted for first year second semester as a transfer student to SCI-Arcs undergraduate program. This is frustrating because I will be attending during the fall semester and half of the second semester classes will not be available during fall. This will limit me from advancing in the undergraduate program. I want to adleast be placed in the second year. I spoke to the director of admissions and he told me he will need a letter of appeal and it may be possible. How should I go about outlining this letter? Why is it so hard to have advanced placement at SCI-Arc? anyone in the same situation? Any words of advice?
Yeah I came starting in 4B. I had to have a little sit down with the director to get approval to be placed there and I also had to sit down with Bill to determine which classes would be covered in the transfer. It was a bit frusterating at first, but in the end I got credit for everything I had taken.
Sciarc's curriculum isn't so structured that if you miss some class that is only offered second semester you can take an elective drawing class or something instead and take teh first year class next year. Wouldn't worry about it too much.
And if it's a really big deal you can usually talk to the instructor of the class you want/need, you might be able to get them to go to bat for you.
well, thanks everyone for the comments. I petitioned and they offered me the chance to take the summer program and then go into 2a in the fall. Also, tumbleweed, any luck on finding a roommate? and how much is the rent?

just start taking classes that 2nd year people are taking. no need to stick to that 1B junk.
dont get frustrated. everything will be okay. just breathe a bit.
appeal if you want - but they're pretty good at placing people where they need to be. step up your portfolio a few levels if you want to get anywhere.

Isn't SCI-Arc offering a summer transfer studio? Why don't you take that, undecisiveARC, then go into 2A in the fall?
