Designing a 36 x 60 gambrel barn with 16 foot side walls. Second floor at 13 feet and gussets used in the gambrel framing and dormers. With 6 posts, will the 3 foot knee wall support the roof?
1) loading on a structure is determined by its physical location. We don't know it.
2) We don't know the composition of any of your structural elements - including your roof and 3 foot knee wall. An engineer would calculate the wind and snow loading, then design the roof, then work their way down.
If you didn't know the above you probably shouldn't be designing the structural portion of this barn.
