Despite all the AIA bashing, and I have serious problems with how the America's Favorite Architecture survey was conducted, they (we - I chair a committee locally) have been working very hard to raise public awareness of design. This Google earth layer should be a cool resource, and I look forward to all the crazy ways people will play around with/improve it.
YES it's a silly video. But it's an application that youngsters like you guys will be able to turn into something cool. And it's the AIA putting the word "architect" and the notion that "architects have something to do with the built world" out there for others to see.
Is that RK Stewart guy posed in front of what looks to be that horrifying building in SF, "the jukebox"? -- if so, nice touch AIA, way give props to good design...

I use Live now instead of google. Have you seen the birds eye view feature?
