...is an ongoing conversation, via any number of organizations and forums. I'm a founding member of c3: the center for conscious creativity, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on creating a better future through the arts and media, with a collective of dedicated individuals who are highly motivated to solving the global challenges we face today, and in the years to come. The organization connects arts, media and entertainment professionals with researchers, educators, futurists, social entrepreneurs and philanthropists. c3 has access to 2500 global futurists through its partnership with the Global Arts and Media Node of The Millennium Project, which focuses on using our knowledge and skills to address the world’s 15 global challenges. We're headquartered on the LA Center Studios lot in Downtown Los Angeles, and are hosting our 3rd annual State of the Arts symposium on Saturday, September 22, and I’d love to have you join us: http://c3so.com/soa-2012.html
One of the panels' themes is ARTS and THE CITY, in which the importance of arts and media in the creation of an economically and culturally rich community will be discussed, as well as how the creative community can serve as a living think tank for Los Angeles, creating a model for other metropolitan environments. Among the panelists is JENNA HORNSTOCK Deputy Executive Officer, Countywide Planning LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). Her primary responsibilities are as project manager for the Union Station Master Plan, implementing the new TOD Planning Grant program, and overseeing procurement and use of economic impact analysis for Measure R and other transit projects. RAY PODDER a designer who, among other projects, is incubating platforms like BETTER -- the beginning of more new platforms, products and digital services designed to empower us and our communities to co-create our own energy and economic resilience. Please come, and bring your voice and vision.
