top Houston design firms

dprodigal1

I might relocate to Houston due to spouse's job and I wanted to ask for opinions on top design firms in the area. Size of firm is not important, but design is. Not interested in core and shell, retail malls, developer work. Any ideas?

thanks.

my boss had our marketing intern look over a firm's portfolio book the other day, Kirksey was their name. Large firm, they do all types of work, look them up. their portfolio presentation was amazing, so they are at least worth reading up on.

kirksey is a big firm...i have heard both good and bad things about it.
there are quite a number of small firms that do really great work.

(i just moved from there to here in DC.) if you want a list of some of my favorite firms email me or more comments.

you can always look at the AIA awards that were recently announced:

if you have a little while there is a great thing the RDA puts together every couple years that is going to happen 5/15-june

Raj has covered them pretty well. I'd add M Architects as well.

Kirksey is king and they're on a hiring spree.
