Does anyone out there know how surface parking lot design is regulated, if at all? is there any specific code regarding parking lot design? I know there are standard formulas for deteremining the size needed, but are there any enforced codes, laws, and regulations? Any help is much appreciated
If your designing a parking structure.....be sure you design it right....cause errors and omissions insurance is not enough to
cover your butt! Nothing like peeling the top off a pickup truck or suv. The turning radius of vechicles is another thing to be very aware of...take the worst case condition....and slope of ramps....then there is the correct psi Concrete with hardner....nothing like a peeling concrete deck.....
parking surface - make it out of grass and stop contributing to the extensive and excessive hard surfaces that are plaguing western societies. And whilst you are at it plant a f*cking tree or two dozen too.
DESIGN! parking code

sounds tasty, thanks!
Easiest way is to get a copy of the local zoning ordinances which will allow you to provide the parking sahara around your strip mall oasis.
no parking sahara here, im smart enough to know that urban vitality is inherently better then any surface parking lot. thanks for the response!
"urban vitality is inherently better then any surface parking lot"
i'd probably agree, only if you were to limit a parking lot to the perfunctory aspect of parking a car.
nothing requires that though.
Yo El Jeffe, you be da mannn...design does (as in deer) everysdays surfs.
it dont matter how smart you are. it matters that you need x parking spaces for y square footage of space.
try mechanical parking!

serious comment though - do you have to paint and or demark the parking designations?
