I'm casting a wide net here to see what kinds of experiences archinecters have had after school with research and travel experiences:
what kinds of things have you gone after and explored in an independant or program related exploration of architecture, theory, etc.? Travel related?
I've been dreaming up some ideas and want to hear other experiences, and possibly find out about some more research foundations, funding sources, and programs that support travel+research. (like Graham foundation, Rotch Scholars, Fulbright, etc.)
It'd be fun to hear about whatever creative investigations folks have jumped into!
very interesting topic, I do not have much to add, but would intrigued with hearing about the experiences of others.
I did have a theory instructor once who obtained a research fellowship through the Aga Khan Award Foundation and traveled through the middle east for a few months.
It's common for foreign students to come to the U.S. to study arch in a Master's program, however, what of the opposite? An American student wanting to go abroad to obtain an arch Master's degree at a foreign institution. Anyboy do that? Or do most people just use it as a research fellowship? It'd be nice if I could float the cost of the AA or Bartlett with the Fulbright!

Very old thread. I know. I'm reviving it.
