i love buildings. i hate architecture. maybe it's because the process is too drawn out or maybe it's because craftsman east of the international date line have issues...
but really, i'm only in it to "hate" on holl et al.

It began with the idea of doing something "serious". Making a contribution to mankind fortified with a religious zeal for the artform. The concentration, the dedication, the learning of an art that contained mystery and precision. an alchemy for today. Then the depression began. a slow realization that began as a loose thread but quickly unraveled until your nakedness shown through. the realization that your quest for beauty is a fool's errand. the seriousness the belief in something higher is a notion long obsolete. escapism and entertainment through immediate means of the ever evolving technologies drive the culture on rapidly. and compared to this your seriousness is a rickshaw without a driver.

I don't hate it... I just dislike being told to move things an inch here and there because my bosses itch with creative stagnation...
maybe some should create a t-shirt with a slogan of some sort on it...
