Inspiration can come from anywhere, and very easily from another piece of architecture
The key is to have it inspire you to make something new
As someone here already said, everything has already been done in some form or another
Its obvious to most people if someone is just copying someone else’s work
Its not going to somehow get by everyone that an idea was borrowed a little too much
Getting all worked up over it, especially when it wasn’t your work that was copied, is a little ridiculous
Its not like anyone said, this is the greatest piece of architecture ever
If someone is copying your work, ok get upset
If someone is copying a famous architect who you happen to like?
Eh, big deal
I bet that’s not the first time someone has copied her work
all i gotta say, is if i were going to do a rendering so close to zaha's project, i'd just steal the image and photoshop it in for the guy and charge him more....hey, the damn thing looks like its built! amazing!....
stealing i have no problem with, its shallow mimickry that's much sadder.
ZAHA WANTS HER PROJECT BACK.....
also being accused of lack of originality by someone who uses a screen name from a 1980's sitcom is very much calling the kettle black.
doncha think???
now in this case, i think the newer sub-d version is much better than her 80's counterpart...

emaze-
by the windows, do you mean the cast glass?
cos that's been done hundreds of times over before zaha or SOM got their grubby hands on 'em.
the hadid redux reminds me of the elevated reststops bridging belgian autoroutes
...
holz.box-
relax, dude.
everyone who has used a column or beam has copied it from someone else...
if anyone put any of their work up, someone would be able to say it was copied from something else if they wanted to
this one just happens to be an obvious example
zaha barada nicto
I wonder if any one tries to copy Zaha's looks.
