awwww. I wish I could be there. Well, ok, not really, I'm glad to be going to Seattle, but I wish I could see everyone (again for most of you). Have a great time!
oh and Susan has to promise to bring those wicked awesome glasses she used to rock back in elementary school (esp the ones she wore on that bullet train pic - where she's eating a cookie).
I'll be there from the 17-21st (flying out late night on the 21st.) Other than visiting reviews on 19th/20th during some approximation of "business hours" I don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going. I could bowl. I have "eat real Mexican food" on my agenda, in any case.
Rationalist, funny... I wish you could somehow manage to pay a visit to my mother while you're in the NW. She'd cook you massive Japanese meals and teach you how to linedance.
awesome! That of course does not preclude you guys doing what you like over the weekend, but I'm glad I'll still get a chance to hang out with everyone.
My favorite mexican around here (besides greasy taco stands) is El Cholo, but someone else may have a better suggestion.
we're on a quarter calendar so we have another quarter after this winter one...
and i can only give a reluctant and unoptimistic maybe to meeting up w/ people... final review is next tuesday so every hour that approaches tuesday is one where i have exponentially more anxiety.
I thought the thing at your place was going to be over the weekend, and mexican dinner night was going to be monday or tuesday evening? Have they been joined? If so, which time/day is it?
we can grill out at my place Saturday night. We will go out for Mexican later in the week. There is also a free show at the Echo Monday night which may be worth checking out
Anyways, contact me for my address. I would just put it out on a post, but that could end up being a not too good idea
Smokety - I've got plans for a New Haven meetup with our friend in the Architecture school, as well as hopefully other friends in Painting, American Studies, and Drama.
Oh also can anyone advise the best way to get from airport to Pasadena? I will not have a car. So my options are: taxi vs. public transportation (which everyone regularly mocks me for suggesting, but I am no stranger to buses and tunnels.) I hope my flight lands reasonably on time!
If we do something monday or tuesday I can probably give you a ride Susan. I work right by UCLA, so chances are you'll be close to my neck of the woods.
Well I am staying in a hotel near UCLA... so that would be awesome, thanks dear!
As for people transporting me to/from the airport.. ahhh I hate being at the airport and would not inflict an extra instance of it on anyone who doesn't need to be there for their own travel's sake, or who doesn't make a career of it.
Is public transport *really* that awful?
What about bicycles?
Rollerblades? (I might actually consider rollerblades...)
bicycle would probably be your best option for getting around the UCLA area. For anything else, I'd check the MTA website to see whether there are routes that are reasonable for you.
actually susan told me that she always carries those coke bottle glasses with her, in case she becomes robinson crusoefied and needs some magnification for fire starting. as her hotness alone won't do it...
SUSAN SURFACE IN LA
She will be here this weekend...another attempted Archinect meet up???
awwww. I wish I could be there. Well, ok, not really, I'm glad to be going to Seattle, but I wish I could see everyone (again for most of you). Have a great time!
wave to me when you flyover susan.
and to me too...
lets grab garpike and go bowling!!!!!!

Hahah whoa, didn't know I'm marquee-worthy!

hey, I already kick ass at the electric slide!
Actually, I'll be back in town on the 18th. If anyone wants to do some post-work drinks and/or dinner that monday or tuesday, I'm up for it.
I'd love to! especially if it involves mexican food :)
I think that would be dooable rationalist....another LA archinector meeting! I love it.
haha

el parian is delicious...

if anyone wants the UCLA final review schedule let me know and i'll email it to you. final reviews start next week.
final reviews?
back east we are not even at midterms yet.
center for ants, can you please email it to me?? ;)
center fo ants...I just emailed you.
I'd like that schedule too
btw, will you be joining us??
Aw. You guys are so fun! Make sure to take plenty of pictures so we can add them to the "LA picture pile".
Susan, if you see a piece of elastic yellow fabric flying at your face, you are advised to duck.
for Susan

though perhaps a drink is what i would need.
A Center for Ants,
if you were smart you woul;d suggest that we bring glue and exactos and all meet up in your studio...
or we could meet up tuesday, after your review? or would you be too sleepy for that?
ah yes... and since if all of you were smart you would oh so politely decline.
I'll be here. Saturday?
Bowling never happened for me. I mean by the time we got lane, I was more interested in karaoke and drinking.
Rational, post-work Mexican dinner and drinks? I may be down. I am pretty busy, but I am not giving up just yet.
You guys should just email me!
Saturday night party at my place in Pasadena???
Ok. Thats sounds perfect.
I was drunk when I posted that last post
Are you still drunk? Is it still on? I'm up for the drive. Just make sure there's some Mexi-dinner along the way.
I am actually not drunk. I will have people over, no problem. I have a patio, deck, grill, etc. I'll make some guacamole
mdler, you missed me singing Jump at the alley.
kriss kross or Van Halen?
when is the new haven meet up, susan? (congratulations!)
oh yeah.....so we are doing this?? Susan? you ok if mdler makes his guacamole?? hehe
if not I am sure there are some good mex joints in pasadena. hey there is an EL CHOLO in Pas too.....so rationalist could be satisfied!
Is there really a New Haven meet up in the works? I'm so there.
el cholo is down the street from my house; we can walk
I thought the thing at your place was going to be over the weekend, and mexican dinner night was going to be monday or tuesday evening? Have they been joined? If so, which time/day is it?

BYOM (bring your own meat)
8 pm ish - Susan gets in around 5:30pm
New Haven Toads Place.....music by Peter Tosh? or that other guy
Morrison....?????
mdler so that's 8pmish on sat?? or what?
yep
Ok, Saturday at mdler's it is!
Rational, we can plan a post-work dinner as well, though I may not make it to Pasadena in time. Is there a more central location?
mdler, Van Halen. Complete with my own falsetto nuances.

i have some advice susan. have one of those cali slackers come and pick you up. i would pick you up if you were coming here...
If we do something monday or tuesday I can probably give you a ride Susan. I work right by UCLA, so chances are you'll be close to my neck of the woods.

rational, I know mdler'll hate this, but we should plan mon/tues dinner in West LA. Close to our homes.
care to suggest a location, taking into account SS's desire for mexican food?
Ha ha good question. Where to go...
Don Antonio's?
11755 W Pico Blvd
There's a cave room!
oh yeah, westside would be a fascinating locale for SS.
Yeah I think I heard that Don Antonio's is good mex food!
