i know i've read opinions of this on here before, but i was wondering if anyone has taken part in the week long workshops, and if it is worth it?

that depends on your personality and what you want to get out of it. Arco is a very cool beautiful place. It is also very isloated and is the farthest cry from being a center for current architectural theory/building/experience. You will be submerged in very intense hands on building experience while living in a transient party camp.

If you don't mind dropping the dough on a week long workshop then you should also check out the ones the Vitra offers each summer in France somewhere. Check there website, because if you can afford it these have really great architects/designers running them.

I should mention that I haven't actually attended either workshop. These are my reviews after visiting as friend at arco who spent a year there, and another friend who had an acceptionally good time on the Vitra workshop.
