San Francisco - salary and firms

Chugging Along

Considering the present ecomonic times, what is the current salary for a Level 3 architect  in SF? I am moving from Dallas with 8 years of healthcare architecture experience. My current salary is $68,000. Hoping to move by Decemeber to be closer to my family.

1. I am not a registered architect - yet. What is the salary I can start expecting? I am guessing I am Architect Level III . I do have wide range of experience from SDs to CDs. I run planning meetings and I have BIM experience.

2. What are the healthcare design firms that seem to be hiring? Any pointers? Tips?

3. Is it a good idea to apply to a hospital system like a facility group in Sutter or Kaiser?

Thank you!

Healthcare? SmithGroup, Stantec, Aecom - 8 years exp? that should do - and you have Revit exp. 68K? you may be competing with licensed - but you do have BIM exp. thats a +

I worked on Kaiser projects when I was with Aecom - but that was  2 years ago

I just remembered something else - I only have 3.5 years exp. When I go on interviews, I am now being asked about IDP and progress towards license. nobody thinks I am serious about becoming an architect - you have 8 years exp. and given two candidates 1 with 4 years exp and a license vs you who have 8 years and  no license - who has the most progressive experience? that's who really gets hired
