i am looking for some sites with industrial/gritty graphics, maybe some graffiti what ever, I trying to find art precedence for an upcoming project, thanks in advance
I felt like sharing, which meant bumping an old thread:
I love the fonts used in Los Angeles Chicano gang graffiti. Digging up this little treasure of a flickr stream brightened my day: The Golden Age of Chicano Graffiti.
The stream consists of photos dating from the '60s and early '70s. Graffiti, yes, and gang graffiti at that, so there's no shortage of ethical criticsm, but the hand and typeface designs are beautiful in some of the images. In addition, the stream includes scanned pages from an old LAPD field manual deciphering the letters and thier meanings.
The rest of the streams include custom lowrider photos and fun family photos of old western historical reenactments. Good times and kids with colt revolvers. Enjoy

They have lots of stuff by Miss Van, one of my favorite graffiti writers. Also, if you are in the NYC area, go visit 5 Pointz across from PS1.
