I'm not even entirely sure I should be posting this here, but I would like a second opinion.
I just finished a 4 year undergraduate degree in design and I had originally applied to a few universities for a 2 year bachelor of environmental design programs (essentially an accelerated 3rd year entry architecture degree). My original intention was to use the extra 2 years to essentially better myself in preparation for graduate studies; brush up studies in architectural history/theory, brush up on drawing skills, start to get a feel for potential thesis topics, etc.
Anyway, one of the schools had originally turned me down, but I was notified recently that they wanted to offer me admission to the M.Arch program instead because they felt my application and portfolio qualified me for a placement there as opposed to the environmental design program.
I know choosing a school for your M.Arch takes a lot of time and research to find a school that is the right fit for you, and I wanted to take the time to do that properly, but now this amazing opportunity has been handed to me on a silver platter and I feel like I'd be insane to turn it down. At the same time, I feel slightly cheated out of being able to choose where I should go.
I'll most likely end up accepting the offer, but I would really like a second opinion. If anyone has any thoughts, it'd be really appreciated.
I think it would have been wise to apply to an M.Arch program to begin with.
Now things have unfolded in contradiction to the doubts you had about your skillset.
if the M.Arch program is decent and finances are in check, I would take it.
If you're feeling ambitious you can always go for another masters.
after 4 years of what sounds like a program at least somewhat related to architecture, you dont need an extra 2 years of study to prep for graduate studies. So i think your original plan may have been a bit overcautious
I wouldnt go there just because they accepted you, as you might be selling yourself short on where you will get accepted. But really, if its a good program and one you would consider anyway, and the finances are decent, I agree with metal, I'd go for it
I agree with the second and third posts, go for it. You were accepted in a M.arch why would you even hesitate at a opportunity like this, money is an issue the loan money might be hard to pay off "i could imagine from a university" but if you can afford it i would go there ASAP.

A slightly different "help me with my graduate school situation" post
