Looking for volunteer architects / designers / engineers

HIDO

Humanitarian International Design Organisation is looking for volunteers architects to help us, together with The Vanessa Grant Trust, realise a Secondary Girls School in Rongai (Kenya).

Get your design realised and realise the dreams and desires of these young girls.
Give them a chance to a better life!

Kenya is a very male orientated society and many of the
educational opportunities reflect this. This project is an
attempt to right the balance in the Rongai area. There is
already a very good school for boys here and now there
will be one for girls too. The prospects for girls can be very
limited once they leave Primary School. It is aimed at
girls who come from less wealthy families who might
otherwise not be able to advance their secondary
education. It will be a private school but non-profit making,
where fees are subsidised through sponsorship for
families in need.

Secondary education in general, will increase
the chances of a better job, a better life, away from
prostitution where lots of girls end up because they can
find no other way of income.

Help this community to become stronger and to
empower women by helping The Vanessa Grant Trust
(VGT) to build this Secondary girls school.

Don't hesitate to contact us for a brief in case you are interested.

ok, i came back. my first read of this made me feel tired and overworked - and i closed the thread and moved on - at least partly because i don't understand what's being sought. is this a competition? is it a request for pro bono work?

more than likely you'll need only one designer/office to participate so what if you get multiple responses? is it like an rfp process?

i'm curious enough to check out your website (which i'll do next) but this announcement, while giving a lot of information, is not giving the right information that might hook someone and reel them in.

Nevermore

steven..LOL ..I did the very same thing.

I think it is a pro-bono or maybe less fees request.

maybe you want to partner with architecture for humanity....email cameron....
they have a network of designers/engineers that they've already established. there is also another european based architectural services organization that helps mobilize volunteer design teams...but i'm forgetting their name and the contact person i had spoken with there....damn cold...my brain feels like it's surrounded by cotton today
