ModCom Committee Logo Contest

redchairs

So I'm certain most of us have not attended three ModCom meetings in Los Angeles, so we can't officially vote, but let's do an informal poll here....

Select one logo.

Number 2, then number 3. The rest don't deserve much attention.

My only beef is that there is no concept statement behind any of these entries. I'm a bit biased because I did enter the contest and was sorry to here I was not one of the 6 finalists today. Oh well. Good luck to any of you that entered and are on the modcom site.

1. Looks like a superbowl commercial dot com bust.
2. Is clipart remiiscent of House Industries
3. Is more appropriate for a online vintage kitsch furniture website
4. Cliche'
5. Same as above
6. Early 60's space program.

I have to vote for #4 if the colors were revisited, Possibly Tomoato Red and the green from #5.
Cliche' can be good for business.

I think #1 is close but needs more development – another layer of geometry maybe. It reminds me of the work Ray Eames was doing inspired by the surrealists.

The rest of them are ok but the motifs are predictable/expected.

they all seem pretty dated to me. but #1 seems better than the others, again with further development it could be better.

They are all nice logos, however, having just a brief idea on the committee, #2 would be my pick as it shows a definite relationship between the committee and architecture, without having to guess .
