cln 1..apparently the building is designed by polshek

all.
i used to live on hanover st. (the main st. in the north end). i
qualify my experience there since i lived there, but didn't really
eat there too much...the sandwich stores there are good..you'll
find a good prosciutto sandwich very similar to italy.

however, it's full of tourists or couples...i don't think many bostonians
eat in the north end...although there are probably exceptions.
the list that cln1 made is basically every tourists visit.

i've only been to the comedy connection once..to see dane cook
before he got big..but i've been to fanueil hall many times...
it's the definition of a tourist trap, but it also has cheap food.
imo the best bars are in cambridge and somerville..at least the ones
with character. the bars around fanueil hall feel like college bars
to me..or the typical meat markets..although there are exceptions.
it's in the heart of the financial district..so it gets that kind of people.

also..i had no idea that polshek building was right on the highway. i
actually worked at the firm that did the original building. one of my
good friends there did painstaking renderings/detailing of the concrete
panels on that and the new balance building...there are supposed to
be shadow lines..but they don't really show up. the building that
they cut through the face of is less than 10 years old...so it's funny
to see that addition.

the federal reserve bank is a rarely cited gem in boston. in my opinion its a bolder more interesting tower than the much celebrated hancock. at the right time of day sun cuts right through it.

it's right next to south station. on the harbor.
