no they arent for a take home quiz but some items in a past licensure exam questionnaire which i would like to know the answers to... apparently it aint that available in the net and i thought maybe you guys would have any idea as to who said em...
isnt philip johnson the traditional modernist? :-?
thanks to all who could help! it is much appreciated!
Unfortunately, I can not confirm the "design as if you were a child". I found one Picasso reference and now I am having a difficult time finding my original reference :(
licensure exams here in manila. these questions im askin came out in previous exams, and there are possibilities of 'em comin' out again. even if chances are slim, i still would not risk not knowing the answers.
Agfa8x - agreed, "let the facade be a free composition" is le corbusier, in refernece to the separation between structure and planning (dom-ino house).
Best quote I ever heard in a hissy fit was by a classmate while in the middle of a desk crit. The student was interupted while expalaining the scheme to the prof who was notorious short with students and the student yells back to the prof to;
"shut the fuck up .... I think in paragraphs not sentences and I haven't finished my thought!"
It was priceless, he was a total academic and only started designing (drawing) once he had researched / read a dozen books, then always had some drivel of a drawing to pin up, that no one could read. Prof always threatened to have him sent to work in some large production office to do nothing but reflected ceiling plans and door schedules.
