i need a new mouse

binary

i had this optical mouse for 6+ years now and it's getting on my nerves... i think the connection/wires are going.... so whats a good mouse?....i wouldnt mind a cordless one......has to be 5 button with click scroll though...... i tried those thumb ball/finger ball mice but those are a bit to restrictive...... i'll look this week end but it would be cool to see what you people use/suggest

After 4 years of seeing my friends cordless, I remain with cord. Why? My coffee mug blocks the signal.

hard wired is the way to go. you don't want to get a "low signal" with a wireless mouse at a crucial time.

I actually use two. the thumb trackball mouse for regular use. it's much easier on the wrist - I was getting wrist pain at the time I decided to purchase it. I also have handy "normal" mouse. I use it for the times I need more precision than my thumb can offer.

i use a wireless and really like it. i have been using a notebook mouse that i slightly smaller than a regular mouse - more comfortable for me. i put a litium battery and it has been rockin' for 6 months without dying. plugs into the USB on the back of my monitor so no receivers to see.

I currently use a Logitech MX518 (Love it!!) Ergonomics is perfect, and far superior to the Logitech G5

MX518

With a IceMAT 2nd Gen mouse pad... awesome combo... smooth as silk!

I'm a fan of the wireless mice- I hear bluetooth can be spotty with signals, but my MS IR-based mouse hasn't let me down.

This one's pretty sweet, with butter-smooth and innovative dual scroll wheels- the Logitech MX Revolution:

I highly recommend going to a store and trying them out to see what fits your and best.

for cad i program the 5 buttons...

top select and enter
wheel... pan/zoom
left side...undo

This is my favorite. It's a trackbll but you use your fingers rather than your thumb. So I've found it to actually be more acurate than an optical mouse. I was having some back twickyness before I switched and that's all gone now. It can be kind of rough on your thumb since the scroll wheel is there, but other than that I love it.

the 518 previously mentioned is amazing. not only that the software that comes with it is too. you can program the buttons for commands in any program.

this was my 3 year project. a 77 curved based brunswick that i took apart and rebuilt/reconfigured to look like an upside ziggurat. only thing i didn't do was pull the body or paint. shaved the pockets/added diamond inlay/downlights/green felt/etc..custom bumpers/stereo/suspension/etc
