Here is a list to get you started. There is a lot of preparation for supporting virtual work environments but it has a lot of benefits for both employees and employers.
--Computing security (e.g. Realsecure, BlackIce, Firewall etc) (company pays)
--Remote Access Software (e.g. Z Token, IP Sec, VS Client, etc) (company pays)
--Virtual Meeting software (e.g. WebEx) (company pays)
--Home DSL or cable network (company usually pays for this)
--Cell phones or separate landline setup for business use (company pays)
--Printers & Faxes (sometimes workers are required to pay for this)
Other items to consider –
--Ergonomic considerations
--Documentation which outlines virtual procedures; addressing things like how to protect company sensitive information; work hour agreements between office and worker, etc.
--Does the office have desktops or laptops? Hardware has different pro's and con's
