Hypersurface Architecture

6nuew

I remember this interesting 'hypersurface' installation that was featured in archrecord maybe a year ago - with a series of pistons that moved polygonal dual-tone facets around, in response to its surroundings, i think. I haven't been able to track this project down, does anyone have any info i could use?

My thesis talks about the surface as being the separating/connecting element between electronic media and spatial experience, so i'm trying to look at interactive surfaces, large-scale dynamic displays etc as case studies... maybe along the lines of OMA's ZKM proposal, with the entire surface of the building displaying video.

You might also want to look at nouvel's arab institute for ideas of how to let surfaces digitally breath or admit light.
