Architecture in Netherlands

NIAM.

What is the state of architecture in The Netherlands. Although it is obvious that there is a continuous flow of talented Dutch architects, it seems that the state of Dutch architecture itself is not reflecting this. Besides that is the fact that most prestigious projects in NL are given to foreign bureaus - which is not beneficial for Dutch firms.

Am I totally wrong here or do you agree that NL is less progressive when it comes to architecture than its own architects are.

Well... considering the stuff that's being built/has been built, the NL seems the most progressive country, architecturewise at least. Many competition entries may seem incredibly progressive & fab, but you still have to choose the (even somehow) buildable warped-membrane-program-mesh project amongst them, it's just an optical divide between progressive projects and progressive buildings getting built in a progressive country. There.
