dont know about that, but you can always draw a Pline around the hatched area and then type "li" to get the area enclosed within that line. Don't mean to insult your intelligence if you already knew that.
make sure the hatch covers the entire area and doesn't have any holes...because sometimes CAD will not hatch over texts...and the area calculation will exclude those...
Area of a Hatch
Quick question.
I'm trying to find the area of all the landscaping within a site. Given the areas can be hatched but I need to know the actual areas of the hatches.
Any help...thanks
In CAD? Area?
cad?.... usually you can type area and then select the polygon....or am i wrong..it's been a while
i'm not aware of a way to query the hatch pattern for it's boundary area.
I figured it out....
Thanks

Autocad 2006 allows you to select the hatch and it will provide the geometry information, unless the shape is to complex.
for autocad...area---object---select hatch
make sure the hatch covers the entire area and doesn't have any holes...because sometimes CAD will not hatch over texts...and the area calculation will exclude those...
You could use ArchiCAD
