What would be a good way to record sound at a site, that doesn't cost too much. Say under $200.

stereo micing sound quality on highest memory setting is exquisite, uploads files through usb.

you can get that DS-2 model on ebay for around 60 bucks. new

I have one of these:


This model, the DW-90, is pretty nice. It has three quality settings and two mic settings for close or lecture range. I use the higher quality setting for 22 minutes of recording. Olympus makes a few good ones.

I paid $90 at Best Buy a few years ago.

on a side note.... i can beat box if you need a sound track for the video

$200 is sorta right below the entry level for more pro level stuff. you could pick up a m-audio microtrack or an edirol r-09 for around $300 used, but they need flash media (works if you have some for a camera anyway)
