going to nyc to work

hi
i am from germany,done with my masters and i am planning to move to nyc to work there.i have been to ny before to do an half year internship at DS&R.i am currently looking for available jobs.
questions are:
1.what kind of salary can i expect?
2.does anyone know the process of how to get the visa?expenses...?
3. any tips/information on the general process of getting the work permit

1- craigslist. type "hack architects" under filter search

2- ask for 85K

3- demand immediate sponsorship for visa or else you will "break them"
