I am applying to M. Arch programs, I have a B.A. in the humanities. Could somebody tell me how important the GRE for M. Arch programs is? I know it depends on the schools, but in general...
Not that important. In my experience, architecture departments don't look at them. Rather the university graduate admissions use them, and even then you are only expected to meet the minimum.
Anyway, I just realized that I may have scared you with the portfolios line. Do you have work to show? A friend of mine used only a photography portfolio to apply to an MArch program, and was quite successful.
I am putting some works that I have done throughout the years and I am taking a drawing class this semester, as well as history of architecture (modern), and doing a research project on a house. I have also taken a class in the history of American architecture. Thought it might help.

it won't help you a lot if you do well, but it will hurt you
if you do poorly.
anything below 1200 is looked upon as a negative,
1400-1500 is expected, above that helps.

Portfolios are key.
