what type of graphics card do you run Maya on? I am trying to upgrade my system to run such programs as efficiently as possible...i have a long way to go.
can anyone compare different kinds of graphics card? ie...
ATI vs. nVidia or something.
since then I've become more supportive of NVIDIA, but I would still head towards ati. maya's website has a pretty decent page devoted to what graphics cards work well. and I've found that investing in a solid graphics card is really worth it.
if you're looking to upgrade (ie, you just want to buy the card) try ebay. I got an ati card worth $800+ for $200. it's a pretty good way to go.
