work as CAD/GIS tech and then apply for M.Arch program

they have this program Architectural and civil engineering technology which has alot of architectural drafting and CAD drafting classes
What is good way to learn AutoCAD revit

but I heard there are programs which only focus on CAD revit or other BIM programs (either offered by company or local tech school)
and i wanted to ask people which would be better choice for me.

Also, once you are up and running - then take a project of your choice and do the entire thing in Revit - concept through to CD
you can download trail versions of all autodesk software from their website
so would it be waste of money going to school just to get a job as CAD tech?
also im thinking about taking GIS certification program
do both GIS and CAD requires to take test and pass in order to get certification or just by completing courses, i get the certification?
also do i must get a certification to get a job? i heard some people saying it is not necessary.
