What is good way to learn AutoCAD revit

choijw2

Hi, I am graduating college with Urban planning degree and my goal of life is becoming architect
but I am in bad position so im looking at the long shot
work as CAD/GIS tech and then apply for M.Arch program

I thought about going to a ommunity college in my area
they have this program Architectural and civil engineering technology which has alot of architectural drafting and CAD drafting classes

http://www.jsr.vccs.edu/curriculum/programs/Architectural_and_Civil_Engineering_TechnologyAAS.html

but I heard there are programs which only focus on CAD revit or other BIM programs (either offered by company or local tech school)

and i wanted to ask people which would be better choice for me.

Also, once you are up and running - then take a project of your choice and do the entire thing in Revit - concept through to CD

so would it be waste of money going to school just to get a job as CAD tech?
also im thinking about taking GIS certification program

do both GIS and CAD requires to take test and pass in order to get certification or just by completing courses, i get the certification?

also do i must get a certification to get a job? i heard some people saying it is not necessary.
