autocad 2007

What can you tell me about autocad 2007....?
Wondering if I should layout some cash or keep plugging along with my current software.

desktop is dead.

get 2007 if you can, new file format, better 3d tools...you might want to look at subscription too...

And i say don't bother and get destop if your looking for 3d stuff. I only use CAD for production drafting and I miss 2006.

2007 seems to work with Revit better, and apparently that is where the future lies...

2007 is a little buggy for modeling, but totally worth it--it works a bit like sketchup on steroids. drafting, obviously, is largely the same.

a subscription is good advice.

How about all this bim stuff....been trying to figure out if it relates to Autocad 2007....or if it is still so far out there one should bit the bullet....then upgrade latter.

my office is going through this upgrade right now...it is a little buggy and we've been having a hard time getting much support, but it's supposed help everyone produce drawings faster.

Is Acad 2007 an even or odd release?

Unless things are markedly better we'll stick with acad LT 2004.

2007 LT is pissing me off. Goodbye XCLIP. Goodbye LISP abilities. Goodbye "normal" raster image ability.

i just got this e-mail from a co-worker:
"Drawing stud walls without sheathing: AutoCAD for some reason (I’m sure it’s a great one that my inexperience with such a superior program cannot come to grips with yet) insists on throwing a giant tail on the end of it which shoots off perpendicularly and will not go away if this stud wall does not terminate into another wall. You can manually modify this tail by editing the endcap in place yet it will not let you entirely get rid of it - only make it smaller or, if you wish, larger and completely malformed. If anybody has encountered this and knows an easy fix please enlighten me. If not I’ll be down at O’Micheal’s [the pub down the road] searching for other, more life relevant answers."

ok, so i don't want to start a new thread for my inane little question, so i'll post it here.

i'm creating a block in autocad 2007. within the block i have a little bubble with a number that identifies the block.

my question is, how do you keep the text horizontal within the bubble, no matter how the block is rotated?

i feel like i should know how to do this, but i can't really remember...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

with intellicad being free and rhino being 150 i don't know who in their right mind would pay for autocad ;)
