Rhino Question - Camera clipping plane????

Bluesman7

Hey guys,

Has anyone had issues with the camera's near and far clipping planes in Rhino?  When we set a camera to wide angle (~24mm), the near clipping plane starts to clip out some geometry in the foreground.  Is there a way around this?  Can I adjust the near clipping plane of a camera?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have to investigate your issue right now. It seems to be a bug rather than something you could fix by adjusting values in the camera properties.

Something easy you could try:

a) Scale your model: If you are working with large geometry, set the model to the appropiate units (meters for instance); do the opposite if you are working in small objects.

b) Move your model to 0,0,0: Once that have been done, select all your model (be sure to turn on all the layers, and to run the "show" command, and also to unlock-unfreeze all the geomtry and layers) and then pick some point in your model, and type: move -> 0

Save your scene (with a new name) and then close rhino, and re-open it...

That should work. If it doesn't, then it is a problem that you should fix by adjusting the camera parameters.

pd: sometimes, when the camera starts clipping geometry, selecting an object and making zoom extent selected works.

good luck
