I was jumping around the UC websites looking for pictures of DAAPworks, having no luck.
Does anyone have good DAAPworks pictures, I heard the new lasercutter can be seen in most if not all projects.
Also another UC picture request, does anyone have shots of the interior of the new Tschumi building. I saw a shot on the UC website, and it looks like it turned out to be a good building.
I was at DAAPworks last week and took some pictures. Many projects used the laser cutter but not all of them. There were a lot of great projects though.
Also I don't think the Tschumi building is open yet. I could be wrong. But we couldn't get into it a month ago.
Maybe you'd want to email me personally, as I don't feel like I should post people's projects without their permission. Are you just curious as to how DAAPworks looked? Or what?
The new Tschumi atheletic office bldg was shown to me by an architecture student friend who is currently working in Cinci- she hates it and I can say from the pictures it looks like a (as she described) "concept gone awry". The blobby footprint was the most evocative thing to me, honestly. The windows are problematic for countless reasons including the fact that apparently it offers no rewarding view of the stadium just yards away. not to mention the fairly banal exterior doesn't quite justify itself by innovative construction system, alone
Interesting construction system as it may be, I heard rust from the rebar is already appearing- bad tidings for what this building will look like in 10-20years time =\
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the gone awry-ness of the Tschumi building, which I saw on Friday. It was fun. But yes I can see how it might have functional issues as an office building. And the triangular windows, though fun, would maybe get tiring at 5pm after being on the computer all day.
I should say that I was able to see the building thanks to the generous wonderfulness of WonderK, who may have a pic or two to share? My camera battery was dead.
I think the general consensus on the Tschumi building was, no matter what you think of it, there's no telling how much porcelain tile and terrazzo you can fit into a building when you're designing for the athletic department.

also pleasantly surprised. (i was there with lb.) but there were certainly some things that were less-than-resolved.
