A Center for Ants?

ugh. after reading just the first page, i can't even go on. that's really twisted.

twisted and busted.
they (the 10,000 + clan) had a lot of influance in manegement and police. it is very disturbing, considering these people talk about god all the time.
probably this article is going to be a pulitzer nominee.

the FLDS is building a compound here in TX in schleicher county near eldorado. they have already run afoul of various laws and regulations and won't let the county sheriff on the property. it is suspected that warren jeffs is here in TX instead of in colorado city/hildale.

it was a stupid move, though. unlike northern AZ and UT, where these splinter-group mormons were the first white settlers, they're moving into a county of southern baptists and mexican catholics. none of whom think too highly of multiple wives and apostasy (take it from me, baptists and catholics do not regard mormons as christians).

word is that there is firepower behind them walls and that there is some apocalyptic theology going on. and that the head of the cult is a world-class perv who likes little kids. sound familiar?

ok, let me immediately rephrase that: the FLDS are NOT mormons, as any LDS will tell you

but baptists and christians still don't like 'em

very sad,
just some of the things which make some of us more 'human' than human.

nothing new, these things are commonplace everywhere..
new age cults in states and elsewhere, sexual abuse, molestation.
child molestation in south east asia , state torture of women and children in arab countries...the list goes on and on and on...

nevermore, we are talking here in america. arizona. yes it is a world wide interreligious concept and whereever. but this is a very specific place and times. you'd have to be here to understand the magnitude of this, in american landscape where have been mass suicides, fire armed confrontations etc. it is not a everyday reality of american life. cult movements are well covered in the media and often turn into violance.

it is not as easy to dismiss or generalize like you've done. we are talking at least 100 million eyes turned onto 10,000 previously isolated, tolerated, scandalous, criminal cult, and its 'prophet' is on FBI's most wanted list. you might not now, but here in this country masses live for this kind of real life dramas and dates and rapes and armed confrontations on live tv. its big.

this is just one aspect of it above.

If I've understood correctly,It's quite sad that you mention the public interest in that matter..(interest for wrong reasons ,) for the purpose of sensational titillation.

orhan..if you dont mind me asking.
Just sensing your outrage on this...(That's nice ,Im sure one should be concerned as a citizen )
..but do u have any specific issues abt it.
like they were situated nearby your area or county or city you are in ?.

you seem to be especially agitated by the topic.

May 12, 06 4:04 pm  ·

exactly...sensational titillation. that is going to be the driving engine behind this story.

but there are other angles and stories interlocked and they are real and disgusting and demaged thousand of lives.
there are political, moral, religious institutions involved, we are talking about several states, federal institutions, wanted prophet, state and federal legislations, justice department local authorities and the list goes on, not the mention the victims. these are very serious crimes. i can go on and on.

you can call it sad, but the story is real and it is out. don't critic me critic the sad story. i know you can.

thats what I asked in the post just above yours.

i am interested in the story but not necessarily agitated.
i've been watching "big love" on my spare time. i am also interested to know if the series had anything to do with opening the closet. and i am interested to speculate on how the story going to develope.
i am not, "o my god more than one wife?", interested. since i grew up in a country where the history books talked about sultans and their harems and the religious angle of the issue etc.

my interest is not, "look christians do it too", either.

i am more interested in the timing, existing conditions, and developments in every aspect of this real mass criminal case developing on and i'd like to see the map of the compaund town soon with public and private spaces are indicated.
no, i do note the banality of all this, but it has a great potential to blown out of scale which i think is already under way.

I think this cult phenomena is way too prevalent in the states.

(for e.g." Hare Krishna" is more popular in the states than even in India ! its not even 10 % popular here as it is there.)

well orhan..I'm neither a christian or a muslim nor american nor near the place to have a grasp on the situation like you do .

that why I made that "generalised" sounding post earlier.

One thing I know .. (immaterial to wether justice is served in the end after the hype hoopla etc .)
...that generally happens out of such things..someone somewhere in the media business gets a nice fat commission transferred to his bank ac.

but i hope that the victims get their justice.

and when situations like this broke out of the closet, they cause another mass discussion on moral values and political/religious groupings. i am always pondering which one of these events qualifies as a 'b type mini' to change the world slowly. revelations on pulses. it sells. this one has a real deep psyco sexual slide to it. it is rich.
my jury was out on mac computers, and some bendy towers. but usually something qualifies as the b type mini pulse. i think this one is slam dunk.

some victims will get their day.

salaam bombay. get some sleep?

Mass discussion is like mass hysteria.....people trying to get something out of their systems.
Its the same thing in essence,..doesnt lead to anything.

and meanwhile...the world will continue to move ahead by its own inner logic.

javier said this cannot be an archinect feature, like he has to draw the line somewhere...

joking aside though,
i really like to see bill and roman do a wifes swap bar b q. and he does another song. millers character and bill's right hand man, don embry was on his knees the other day because the one he really loves, was rejected by other wives. bill asked his son to bring some kleenex for his friend.
fuckin' bill's dad pees in the kitchen sink and they can't do anything about it. i think the young wife will have an affair with that young guy who really loves her she ain't so sure about polygamy.
they have a lot of guns too. all this happen around a home depot type of materials...

" i think the young wife will have an affair with that young guy who really loves her"

e i think it'll be with ben, the oldest son.

there's some creepy flirty thing going on for sure between margene and ben.

yuck! it's a great show though...

e, yep thats him, he was ready to go last time in her house when he showed up with flowers.
i agree, something is gonna happen with ben though. i think roman will get his daughter back as a wife. i think bill better watch with viagra because he'll have a heath attack. but i agree ben and margene are gonna go for it, i mean fuck.
bill's brother likes barbara dutton henrickson, bill's favorite big wife. if some faul play happens there, watch out.
can you believe, bill orders lobsters for easter. they all go to freezer. the teenage daughter is gonna be wasted by roman probably. if that happens, she is gonna kill few people though, because she is not that cool about polygamy.
funny all the connections between the compaund dwellings are usually thru vinyl sliders.
