Something to do in Syracuse?

liberaceisdead

Help! I'm going to be up in Syracuse for the next couple of days on business and I'm suddenly realizing that I'm going to be bored stiffless if I don't find something to do. Is there anyone out there from the area (or in school) who's got any suggestions? Bars, restaurants, museums, drives, weird places, anything? Thanks.

Go to the Dinosaur Bar B Que near Armory Square. Ask anyone for directions everyone knows where it is. Best barbeque in the world, and great atmosphere. It's a honky tonk motorcycle hang out, but it's still friendly. If your into music Soundgarden in Armory Square has a good selection and its cheap. If you want pizza check out Cosmos right off campus.

Totally what I was going to say: Dinosaur!

And of course, there is always the giant mall.
And I think Syracuse has an Art Gallery by IM Pei? Some Orangeperson should correct me...

Is there anything to do around the school? Any end of year exhibits?

If you're there this weekend, there is a NCAA lax game at the dome. I'm not sure on the schedule of the thesis jury/display, check the arch school. There are several decent bars, restaurants downtown armory square. Turningstone indian casino about 45min to the east on the thruway. There might be some minor league hockey, indoor football, baseball games around. The im pei museum isn't very good building wize and exhibit wise. Cornell is at ithaca down south, nice small town and campus. good luck, best bet would be to go to a bar/club with your local coworkers.
