drawbridges?

hibz

one more thing i need help with! part of my project has suspended masses on a cliff side that connect to a buried channel, the space between is basically a void most of the time and separates two kinds of users. for temporary events where the two ends meet a middle ground is created for spatial/programmatic propositions. i'm working on sort of a drawbridge that connects the two ends together, a temporary platform. i've included a really crappy sketchy section i just did on artrage to show the basic idea. so my question is, does anyone know modern examples of drawbridges used in architectural projects preferably on a smaller scale? or any scale for that matter i just need something to help me better realize my options for structural systems that can be applied for my project. or maybe just a detail for the hinged bridge/platform thing? anything? this is the last u'll hear from me haha i promise! :)

it's interesting - the geometry and number of the units governs the shape when coiled - yours can be different

thanks snowi this is really cool! gives me another set of possibilities to try out, when folded it could form the whole of the suspended mass on one end, wrapping it up from three sides, or something. and i quote: "Ooh, eee" !
