Anyone know where I get my second hand bicycle in chicago area? Not too fancy so I won't lost to other peoples, but not too bad too. if riding it can give me proud of being an architect, that would be wonderful.
Recycle Bike Shop, 1234 S. Wabash
...where i get my stuff
Blackstone Bicycle Works
6100 S. Blackstone Ave.
Chicago IL 60637
I hear this blackstone place is cool, they let you use their shop and stuff...
you can take classes etc, i've never been, but i hear good things...
lots of donations...
you can pick up some bike furniture too it seems...
i thought blackstone ended with the fire that took down the building they were in
back in 2001 or 2002? anyway it would be great if they were back. i always liked going there when i lived in the hp.
oh and check out garage sales, since it's garage sale season--i got a rad raleigh grand prix for 30 bucks a few years ago, and a 10$ sanwa beater in working condition (ridable). but yeah, if you need cheap, can't beat 10 dollars
there's a guy who usually sells bikes from his stoop on the weekends. he's on the west side of wood just south of north avenue. 40 bucks will buy you a bitchin' ride.
