I was talking with friends today about critical regionalism and I find myself wondering about its extents. Everyone knows about the Rural Studio (Mockbee, Duh), the Arizona School, (Will Bruder, Rick Joy, Wendell Burnett) and to some extent the Sea Ranch and the Northwest kids. I recently read about Byoungsoo Cho in Montana, about a Korean coming to a remote place and finding the essence, or what was thought be so, of that place and acting upon it. Where else are people doing this? What's in Wyoming?
Are there no Wyomians (Wyominians, Wyomites) on the board? I saw some beautiful pictures by a student here , Judd Moore, earlier in the year, of the snow fences and the spaces and landscapes they create on the high prarie. It seems like there would be someone channeling these things into architectural form.
I have been to Wyoming, Yellowstone in particular. High pine forests, grasslands, geysers, hot water bubbling up out of the ground. Besides that it is pretty much the same as most of the west, Idaho, Colorado, Cali . . .
i saw her standin

Or maybe a Steven Holl/Antoine Predock collaboration?
