august/sept are usually a good time to make a lot of calls and market yourself as all the grad school entrants are making their way out the doors of offices. but a word of advice, it's really really hard to get a job in either of these cities without actually relocating there. I do know of someone who actually got a job in hawaii recently without visiting first...sounds damn nice to be in hawaii. however, i guarantee that wont happen in ny or la.
HEARD OF ANY OPENINGS IN LA OR NY
Have any of you guys heard of openings in small/medium sized design oriented firms? Those are the firms that never post job openings.
Have you checked the Jobs section? For some reason almost all of the postings are in the LA-area.
I did and it is a great source, I just know that all of the jobs that I have gotten were not advertised.
try new-york-architects.com...they regularly have job postings...you can also post your resume in the hopes of a response! good luck.
