I had an "opportunity" to be on a shoot wth AL a few years ago - unfortunately the weather was not "cooperating" and she yelled at me in front of the subject ARCHITECT-TO-BE-PHOTO'D - and screamed in my face, "WHERE THE HELL IS HIS UMRELLA??" effin wanted to slap her upside the head!!
Well, I didn't see the show, but I've read most of the worshipful articles. I like some of the work, like the "cloud" line... and the drapes/walls made from plastic clips. But they have an almost anti-design attitude that perturbs me sometimes. Still, I'd like to be them when I grow up.... again.
Haven't seen it yet either... but when I was studying philosophy in Paris I went over to Ronan's studio apt. (he was a classmate of my boyfriend at the time, or maybe they had just graduated) and borrowed a copy of his dissertation to use as reference. It was about urbanism and public furniture - very interesting. I remember at that time he had just won an award for his first piece to be produced, a silver colored pencil holder ? that looked sort of deco. I thought it and he was very cool, the decor in his place was nice, maybe it even inspired me to go to architecture school because I knew nothing about design back then.. Anyways, amazing how you can go from student to massively published designer in a few years (that was maybe 10 years ago now, wow how time flies...) And as far as I know they've done it purely on their design merits, and really hard work.

one big thing in almost everything i've read about them: they are really, really into partitioning space.
