in anwer to the question, "does anyone know what this is", in th unbuilt work pictures, it looks like something some Tokyo students submitted for the Lake Calumet Nature competition a few years ago. I think it was sponsered by ford and the City of Chicago for a wet lands conservation project/nature museum.

Anyone else try to figure out what sound that would make when you blew into it? I spent a few hours making variations on the sound, "BNNNNNNNNNNNN." My voice isn't low-pitched enouth, though.

yeah, an aquaintance here in tokyo did the calumet competition, and it does look like it, but it ain't.
