what to wear to interview in L.A.

design geek-girl

Well, the technical term for the piece is ball closure ring. The hoop itself is 316L surgical steel, but there is a ball made of whatever that joins the two ends of the hoop, you know, acts as the closure. When it's first pierced, you can only use an all steel BCR, but, in a little while you can use a natural stone ball, or acrylic or whatever strikes your fancy. I would stay away from silver though, since it oxidizes.

And now you know entirely too much about body jewelry. Congratulations.

natural stone, that could be hard to insert.
Perhaps you would need to lie down for a few millenia while the techtonic plates do their thing!

This always worked for me:

Hygene: get fresh haircut, trim nails, etc... you're a big boy/girl clean up for that day.

Dress: Dress comfortably, dress your age... Dress according to the Salary you are requesting.

Research: Know the History of the firm, at least who the Pricipals are, type of work firm does, make sure you want that. (Corporate/Healthcare/Hospitality, etc.)

Follow up with Thank you within 2 days... it might be the difference that gets you hired.

Don't:

Bring a cell phone
Be late
Talk negatively about previous employer
sell yourself short
Wear a tie or socks that becomes the topic of conversation

and never ask for compensation, let them offer one first - if they ask, ask them how much was allocated for the position, if they insist on a number, tell them you are interviewing with others and they have offered xx,xxx.xx amount. That way it is not you providing a number, but the value of some other firm for your skills. If you don't have a number check the poll for salary and compensation and stick to something close to your skill set.
